With the effect as of mid-November 2015, the Scientific Board became part of the structure of Pro Kolej Foundation. The Scientific Board is to support the organisation and ensure that its programme contains concepts, experience and development trends decisive for the development of transport in Europe. The Scientific Board is composed of Prof. Jan Pieregud (Warsaw School of Economics), Mirosław Antonowicz, PhD (Kozminski University), Michał Beim, PhD (Sobieski Institute), Bartosz Mazur, Phd (University of Economics in Katowice), Michał Wolański, PhD (Warsaw School of Economics), Marcin Wołek, PhD (University of Gdansk) and Michał Zajfert, PhD (Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences). Members of the Scientific Board, as Foundation experts, want to actively join the discussion about problems of the rail in the media as well as sector conferences. The initiative will allow them to expand the dialogue between the specialists dealing with rail in a scientific, professional theoretical and practical manner.
One of the first initiatives of the Scientific Board is development of a systematised summary of the state of rail in Poland – in the form of ranking of rail in each province. With time, knowledge base and database concerning the main trends affecting the transport market and good practices favourable for the development of that means of transport are to be developed.
